Drive together along this route: TBD\nJoin us on August 8th at 12:30 pm EST for the first nationwide peaceful protest!\nBackground:\nWe are all very aware of the lack of fair representation in this country. For too long\, third parties have been silenced in the national debates. The Commission of Presidential Debates is refusing to allow third parties to debate without polling at 15% in polls they conduct. The caveat? They don’t ask about third party candidates in those polls. The time to end that is now.\nI would like to first thank you for taking the time to check out this event! This protest is of course inspired by running candidate Dr. Jo Jorgensen of the Libertarian Party. However\, do not let that stop you from joining\, even if you don’t plan on voting for her!!\nThis convoy is for anybody that is discontent with the current political landscape that has been dominated by the duopoly (Republicans/Democrats) for too long. This protest is for anyone who has been disappointed by those respective parties. Although the Libertarian party is the third-largest group in the U.S.\, we hardly hear about them. There are other third parties even less so. The Commission of Presidential Debates (CPD) understands that their events garner millions of viewers and undoubtedly influence voter opinions on running candidates. Jo Jorgensen will be on the ballot this November\, and so will the candidate for the Green Party. Yet\, it is such a hard process to try and get them to the debate stage. The CPD has created a slew of difficult stipulations for third parties to achieve in order to participate in the debates and it is wrong. They do not want the American people to hear from their other options. The major parties would not let their influence and power slip so easily. But we have a right to hear from the people that will be on the ballot. We need to come together in the 305 to show that Dade County is not satisfied with our main candidates and we NEED more options. It’s time to listen to our options.\nPlan:\nAt exactly 12:30 EST all the attendees throughout the nation will be going LIVE on social media to tell their friends and family about what we are doing and why. All the videos and photos will be compiled for a short film after the event.\nWhat to Do:\nDecorate your cars\, carry flags\, blast music — come together to support fair representation of Jo Jorgensen and the third party in the debates.\n30 minutes prior to the convoy will be a time for announcements and interview opportunities. Businesses can participate by sponsoring the decorations on cars or creating pit stops along the route. Local press will be invited to participate as well.\nThe main goal of this coordinated effort is to get Jo Jorgensen (and all third parties whose names are listed on the ballots) on the debate stage to challenge the Republicans and the Democrats.\nThere are many sub-goals and benefits\, including:\n– Spreading the word about Jo Jorgensen and the Libertarian Party to increase awareness of our local community.\n– Peacefully gather in our cars to respect society’s concerns over COVID and display the Non-Aggression Principle.\n– Show the country we are a lot bigger\, more diverse\, and more organized than they thought.\nHelp spread the word by inviting your local friends and family to this convoy!\n—\nPasos para participar:\n1.
