Our Officers
The officers of the Libertarian Party of Miami-Dade County are elected to lead the party, set its message, and act as ambassadors. They are accountable to the party as a whole, not to any one group.
Hector Roos
Chair
Mr. Roos is a first-generation American, born in DC raised in Miami to parents from Peru. He studied mechanical engineering at Florida International University where he earned his bachelor’s degree.
He is currently a marketing and strategic consultant with Human Scale Strategies. He has been active in Miami politics for nearly 20 years, starting as a Congressional intern during high school, working with candidates and neighborhood groups throughout Florida and advised Miami-Dade County governments on public policy.
Roos was the 2022 Libertarian Party of Florida candidate for Governor. He has served on the board of the state party since 2021. Roos regularly post on X (formerly known as Twitter) from @RoosForFlorida.

Miguel “El Skipper” Quintero
Vice Chair
Miguel “El Skipper” Quintero is Vice Chair of LP Miami-Dade and is our 2024 candidate for Miami-Dade County Mayor.
Quintero first became interested in libertarianism more than 20 years learning that there was a different political viewpoint than the two parties. He is an entrepreneur, journalist and activist. He has worked at the Miami Herald, ran several businesses and currently devotes his time as the founder of the Miami Flying Trapeze, training a new generation of aerial acrobats.
Quintero is a Miami-native born of Cuban parents. He is a graduate of Dade Christian School and Wheaton College.
